Licensed Clinical Psychologist · New Orleans, LA

I built my career helping people carry what felt impossible. Then I learned to carry my own.

I'm Dr. Dana Labat — psychologist, mom of two teenage boys, and the woman behind The Reemergence Project. For nearly two decades, I've sat across from women who are brilliant, capable, and quietly disappearing inside their own lives.

I didn't just study that. I've lived some of it.

That's why I do this work the way I do — with clinical expertise and the kind of empathy that only comes from having been in the room yourself.

My Clients

You may be exactly who you've been looking for — and I may be exactly who can help.

I work with women — and some men — who look like they have it all together and feel like they're barely holding on. My clients are high-performers, moms of teens, professionals navigating major life transitions, and people who've tried therapy before and weren't quite sure it worked.

They come to me because they're ready to stop managing their life and start actually living it.

A little off the record

I'm a psychologist who works with so many women just like me.

That's not a tagline. That's the truest thing I know about why I do this work.

I'm a mom navigating the teenage years with two boys who definitely don't always give me the floor. I'm a New Orleanian who believes good food, good music, and good therapy can change your life. I'm a woman who has had to learn — and relearn — how to put herself on her own list.

My approach is warm, direct, and deeply grounded in clinical research and real human experience. I will never make you feel like a case file. And I will always be in your corner.

I am a proud ally to the LGBTQ+ community and a committed advocate for equity in mental health care, particularly within BIPOC communities.

The training behind the empathy

Decades of experience across the most complex settings in psychology.

I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. My training took me across the full spectrum of human experience — adolescents in juvenile facilities, women managing high-risk pregnancies, patients navigating eating disorders, and professionals quietly unraveling under the pressure of success.

Whatever you're carrying, I've likely seen something like it. And I know how to help.
